Jessica Ibrahim of Springfield, Virginia has been accepted into the nationally-competetive Cannes Culinary Program! She was one of only twenty individuals selected for the culinary team of the American Pavilion at the Cannes International Film Festival in May 2010. The program includes a two-week stay in Cannes, France beginning with a cultural and food tour of Cannes and Nice and then working with other chefs throughout the film festival.

About Jessica...
Jessica has been an important member of The Swiss Bakery team for over two years. She has recently received her Culinary Certificate, Hospitality Food Service Management Associate's degree, and Business Administration Associate's degree, graduating summa cum laude in 2009 from Northern Virginia Community College. She is now attending George Mason University for a bachelor's degree in Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship.
A versatile member of The Swiss Bakery team, she does everything from baking cookies, to decorating pastries, to assisting customers. You can find her smiling face many mornings in our Burke store, any time at our Ravensworth store, or even at our many out-of-the-store events - farmer's markets, Oktoberfest, the Flower Mart at the National Cathedral, and Swiss club events.
Because Jessica will be paying for her own airfare to France and for much of her living expenses during the program, The Swiss Bakery will be making this new confection, designed by Jessica herself, to help her cover trip costs.Come enjoy sweet, salty, gooey Jezebelli bars and help send our Jessica to France!
